Archer Lecture: Lafayette in Harford

About
In 1931, Alexis Shriver wrote a book entitled Lafayette in Harford County that recounted the Marquis de Lafayette’s travels through Harford County Maryland during the Revolution and his stop in Havre de Grace on his Farewell Tour. Today, local historical researchers dispute some of Shriver’s claims. Learn more about these visits and explore the facts and the myths associated with Lafayette. Researchers Dr. Amy Rosenkrans,Jacob Benson Harford County Preservation Officer and Ken Sterner will share what they have learned in researching Lafayette in Harford County. Shriver’s book, Lafayette in Harford County, 1781…is available at the Harford County Public Library. Both the Bel Air and Havre de Grace branches have copies.
