About the Harford County Barn Quilt Trail

The Harford County Barn Quilt Trail encompasses all corners of our diverse county.  In addition to showcasing our farming community, the Trail includes agribusinesses, nature centers, wildlife preserves, schools, and historic waterfront parkland.  The barn quilts are created by their owners with both the history of the property and the farm’s current activities in mind.  The transition of some of our older farms from traditional farming and dairy operations to more current business opportunities has allowed our rich agricultural community to continue.  As you follow the Trail, take time to enjoy the views of the Chesapeake Bay, savor some Maryland crab soup, taste some fresh produce or homemade ice cream and watch the sunset with a local craft beverage.

Created in conjunction with the Harford County Office of Community & Economic Development, Harford County Government Division of Agricultural Services, Visit Harford, and with special thanks to Joan Hayden, the Barn Quilt Trail offers opportunities to experience all that Harford County has to offer.   We hope this Trail helps you to understand why we love our county and its rich heritage.
