With Halloween behind us, fall is in full swing. Whether you’re looking to enjoy the crisp air outside or keep warm during an inside activity, Harford County is home to some of the best family-friendly places to go this fall.
Hiking Trails
If you’re still looking to enjoy some time outside before it becomes too cold, consider hiking with your family at one of the many beautiful trails in Harford County to experience the colorful leaves before they’ve all fallen to the ground. Here are two of our favorite spots:
Gunpowder Falls is located in Kingsville, MD, and is one of the state’s largest parks. It covers over 18,000 acres in Harford and Baltimore counties and features more than 120 miles of trails, where you can take your family hiking and fishing this fall.
Located on parts of the former Maryland and Pennsylvania Railroad (formerly known as the Ma and Pa) corridor in Bel Air and Forest Hill, MD, this trail is a great place to take your family this fall for walking, running, or biking to experience nature before it becomes too cold. You can choose between a 3.3-mile trail in Bel Air or a 1.7-mile section in Forest Hill.
Steppingstone Farm Museum
Take your family on a trip this fall to the Steppingstone Museum in Havre De Grace, MD, to learn about Harford County and those who lived on the farm, as well as visit the barnyard animals. Do you like to bring your dog with you for your family-friendly activities? Bring them to the museum! Their pet-friendly grounds are open year-round. With 24 buildings, 6 working shops, and over 20 exhibits, there’s a lot to see on this 23-acre farm.
Miniature Golf
Miniature golf is a fun, family-friendly activity to partake in to enjoy the last days of fall in Harford County. Here are two locations to consider:
Located in Churchville, MD, the Churchville Golf Center offers two different 18-hole courses. You and your family can play miniature golf among animals, a pirate ship, and water hazards. Once your round is finished, enjoy an ice cream cone!
If it’s a chilly fall day, you can play golf indoors at Jurassic Golf and Arcade in Bel Air, MD. As Harford County’s first (and only) indoor blacklight mini golf course, your family is sure to have some fun!
Tea By Two
With over 80 different varieties of fine loose teas, Tea By Two in Bel Air, MD, is the perfect place for you and your family to go on a crisp fall day. Warm up with some tea while you enjoy lunch or a tasty treat (or both) at this family-friendly spot.
