About
The Hays House Museum offers visitors a glimpse into the daily life of a well-to-do family during the Federal period of American history. Built in 1788, the museum is named for Thomas A. Hays, a prominent lawyer, landowner and entrepreneur who purchase the house in 1811. The house retains virtually all its original features including staircase, weatherboards, mantels, woodwork and shutters.
